Sea Fury (1958)

Somewhere on the Cantabrian coast of Spain there is a small, ruined castle that will play a decisive role in a romance between Stanley Baker and a young Spanish girl called Rosita.

First she entices Baker, a sailor in port, up the hill to take some photos at “el Castillo”, where she fakes a twisted ankle to seduce him.

Later he follows her there and they agree to run away together so that she doesn’t have to marry Baker’s over-the-hill Captain to satisfy her father’s financial greed.

The port, and its castle, are in reality on the Catalonia coast of Girona province, at Begur, a small fishing village that is now a popular resort.

Robert Shaw got one of his first roles in this film.
