Torre de los Dones, Torrelodones
he tower is a Muslim fortification built sometime between the IX and XI centuries.
On the 1st March 1979, the tower was victim of a terrorist attack, when a home-made bomb was exploded there, coinciding with general elections. The tower is clearly visible from the motorway that separates it from the town to which it gives its name, and takes a bit of getting to, even with, or perhaps because of, the directions given by the good people who live thereabouts.
